Reflection Markers

Pattern

Externalize experiences as lightweight markers you can return to, expand, and reflect on.

Philosophy

Intuition develops by slowing down enough to notice and make meaning from experience. In systems designed for speed, we need practices designed for reflection.

Principle

Experience doesn’t build intuition; attention to experience does.

Formula

Intuition = Experience × Attention × Reflection

Practice

Create a note for each week, organized by day. Capture experiences using:

  • Marker — What happened?
  • Annotation — What mattered?
  • Signifier — Where should it go?
    • 💭 Think — Take it inward.
    • 💬 Talk — Take it outward.
    • Act — Take it forward.

Keep markers lightweight and rewrite them as experiences unfold so they reflect their meaningful state rather than an exhaustive history. Review the note periodically to reflect, route signifiers, and notice patterns.
